To assist with the establishment or development of community gardens in local communities. Ie: garden feasibility, planning and design; development of policies and manuals; training and other events at the garden; community engagement; advertising and promotion; building the capacity of the community garden sector and volunteers; evaluation of the garden and its programs; infrastructure; consumable items.
Open to: incorporated not-for-profit community organisation; local government authorities; an unincorporated organisation or community group, applying through the auspice of an incorporated body or a local government authority.
An unincorporated organisation without an auspicing arrangement; a federal or state government agency; an individual; a commercial for-profit organisation; an organisation located within the Indian Ocean Territories. Ongoing operational costs; interstate and overseas travel; projects that duplicate an existing project; projects that are typically funded through other sources; purchase of prizes or gifts; projects that could be delivered as part of the agreed services under a current agreement the organisation has with the Department of Communities.

Victoria Park Community Garden Association Inc. - $5,000 - to enhance the quality of their existing garden paths so that it can be better accessed by garden users in wheelchairs; City of Gosnells - $20,000 - to establish a community garden where people can come together, grow their own food, learn new skills and meet like-minded people.
