Provides funding to community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Queensland. An eligible organisation can submit one application per funding round provided it does not have an approved application from a previous funding round that has not been acquitted. They can also submit to a round if they have an application pending in the previous round, on which successful applications have not yet been announced.

Applicant organisations must: have not-for-profit objectives; be community based; and be registered with CBFU. They must be incorporated or registered by an Act of Parliament, OR sponsored by such an organisation, OR a local ambulance committee, rural fire brigade or State Emergency Service group applying as a sponsored organisation.

Grant writer fees; contingency costs; auspice fees; repayment of debts and loans; overseas travel costs; project management fees; gifts; and items purchased before an organisation is notified of an outcome in writing from CBFU. Unlikely to be funded: salaries and wages; administration expenses; rent and lease costs; consumable items; catering; purchase of equipment/service for an individual; funding for a staff or member social event; training not provided by a third party; and sponsorship.
